Overview
Vien Williamsburg (“we”, “us”) operates Side Route Manager, an internal operations tool used by a transportation manager to schedule one-off and substitute bus routes and to notify the assigned drivers about those routes by SMS text message and email. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it.
We do not sell, rent, or share driver phone numbers or any personal information with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. Mobile opt-in and consent information is never shared with any third party. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third parties.
Information we collect
- Driver contact details — name, mobile phone number, optional WhatsApp/text number, and email address, entered by the manager.
- Route information — pickup and drop-off locations, dates and times, assigned bus, pay details, and notes.
- Message records — the SMS and email messages sent for each route, and the driver’s START / DONE replies, kept as an operational audit log.
- Manager account — the email address used to sign in to the tool.
We do not collect data from the general public. All driver records are added by the manager who operates the program.
How we use information
- To schedule routes and send each assigned driver the operational details of their route by SMS and/or email.
- To record route start/finish times from driver replies and to calculate pay.
- To generate payroll and route reports for internal record-keeping.
Phone numbers are used
solely to send operational route notifications to drivers who have been added to the program by the manager. We never use them for marketing.
SMS / text messaging
Drivers receive text messages only because they have been engaged by the operator to drive routes and have provided their number for that purpose. Messages contain route details and status prompts (for example, “Reply START when you begin / DONE when completed”). Message frequency varies with route activity. Message and data rates may apply. A driver can opt out at any time by replying
STOP, and can reply
HELP for assistance. See our
Terms & Conditions for the full messaging terms.
Service providers
We use a small number of vendors strictly to operate the service, and only to the extent needed to deliver it:
- Supabase — secure database, authentication and file storage.
- Twilio — delivery of route text messages and receipt of driver replies.
- Resend — delivery of report and notification emails.
- Google Places (optional) — address suggestions while typing a route.
These providers process data on our behalf under their own terms and security commitments. They are not permitted to use the data for their own marketing. We do not share information with any other third parties except where required by law.
Data retention & security
Records are retained for as long as needed for operational and payroll purposes and are stored on access-controlled, encrypted infrastructure. Access is limited to the authorized manager account.
Your choices
Drivers may request to view, correct, or remove their information, or to stop receiving messages, by replying STOP to any text or by contacting Trans@vienny.com. We will action such requests promptly.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “last updated” date above.
